In a glorious rural setting with spectacular long distance views to the Trossachs, our holiday cottage enjoys a very good location, being within 45 minutes drive of Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and Glasgow. Furthermore, our self catering holiday cottages offer a quiet setting on a private estate. There are two 4 star self catering holiday cottages at the Mains of Arndean. They can be booked together sleeping 14 or separately for smaller parties with Ochil sleeping 8, Blashie sleeping 6. Blashie cottage is also level 2 disability compliant. The Bothy, sleeping 2, is at Arndean, a mile away, and is level 1 disability compliant

 

The Local Area

The Ochil Valley in Central Scotland is home to our countryside cottages, Ochil, Blashie and The Bothy. The cottages are ideal for families, couples and large groups who wish to explore the Highlands as well as the cities. Scotland’s major cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are within an hour of our cottages. The cottages are 2 miles from the village of Dollar which has a range of shops, including a supermarket, butcher as well as a baker. The towns of Alloa and Kinross are within 10 miles, both with food shops and many other things to do.

For the walker, there are many paths through Arndean Estate as well as along the Ochil Hills. There are 3 golf courses within 5 miles, the closest at Muckhart. The cottages are within an hour of 10 championship links and inland courses including St Andrews and Gleneagles. There are many restaurants and pubs close to the cottages and are all of a high standard. Edinburgh airport is 45 minutes by car and the nearest train station is at Alloa which is 15 minutes away.
